Sav definitions not updating
If Symantec is repeatedly popping up messages that the Virus Definitions are out of date, you may need to upgrade Symantec Endpoint Protection to the newest version, version 12 (as of 3/26/15).On a Mac you will not get the messages so you won’t know if the definitions are updating or not.
This puts that program into the KACE software inventory. Check the box "Also show software without an Associated File", type "Symantec Endpoint Protection" in the box next to "Filter". In the search box type “Symantec Endpoint Protection” then click “Search”.Symantec's limitation is that a Windows 32-bit SEP install file cannot be installed on a Windows 64-bit OS.The Windows 64-bit OS must have a Windows 64-bit SEP install file.Live Update can retrieve definitions files either from the Symantec server (which it does by default) or from an internal Web, FTP, or file server created with the Live Update Administration Utility. To run Live Update from the Symantec System Center Console Scheduling Live Update You can schedule Live Update to run periodically, either from the Virus Definition Manager within the Symantec System Center, or by clicking File and then Schedule Updates from within Symantec Anti Virus.
Managed Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) clients do not update virus definitions.
